About the Role

Sungdong (central Seoul) 9-6:40 PM 2.8M + Full Benefits (1-2 teachers)-March 1st (1-2 teachers) & Sep 1st.

Hours: Working hours: 9:00 AM-6:40 PM (Mon-Fri, 1 hour and 30 min prep time, 45 min lunch time, break times between classes)

Location: Jung-gu in Seoul

Age group: ECP (5 years old to 7 years old) and 1st-grade Elementary up to grade 6

Start: (1-2 teachers)-March 1st (1-2 teachers) & Sep 1st. (+1-week of paid training)

• Monthly Pay: 2.8 million KRW start, but negotiable depending on experience

• Single-furnished housing

• Round-trip airfare

• 11 paid vacation days a year in addition to national holidays set by our school

• A severance bonus upon the completion of the 1-year contract

• Medical Insurance: 50% of the national insurance premium is paid for by our school.

• Monthly contribution to the National Pension Fund

Total number of FT: 10 (including a foreign vice director)

Requirements

✅ Basic Eligibility Requirements for the E-2 Visa (South Korea)

🇺🇸 Citizenship from an English-Speaking Country

🎓 Bachelor’s Degree (or Higher)

You must hold at least a BA or BS degree from an accredited university in your home country or in a country where English is the official language.

🔍 Clean Criminal Record

You must provide a national-level criminal background check (CBC/CRC) that is:

  • Apostilled 

  • Less than 6 months old at the time of visa application

Examples:

🩺 Health & Drug Check

  • A medical exam is required after arrival in Korea. It includes:

    • General health screening

    • Drug test

    • HIV test

  • Some schools also ask for a self-assessed health statement before issuing a contract.

📜 TEFL / TESOL Certification (Optional but Preferred)

  • Not required by Korean Immigration for the E-2 visa itself.

  • Strongly preferred by employers, especially:

    • 120+ hour courses

    • Courses with a teaching practicum

💡 Note: Many schools require a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate even though it's not a legal visa requirement.
